It's all getting rather tight at the bottom of the Airtricity League these days and a win for Bohemians could see Drogheda dragged right into the mix in what could be the fixture of the week.
Mick Cooke's claret and blue army travel to North Dublin having not played in the league for 12 days. An exit from Europe and a 2-2 draw against UCD in that time will spurn on the Louth natives and would rather be looking forward instead of looking warily over their shoulder at the chasing pack.
Bohemians are coming off an exceptional win out in Bray last Friday evening and have shown signs that perhaps the fight is there within this young group of players to stave off relegation worries and will certainly look to push on from here.
With Owen Heary installed as temporary player/ manager, all focus this week has been coming from off the pitch matters. Roddy Collins' name has been mentioned a lot with regards the vacant managerial position at Dalymount Park but Owen Heary insists that the players are focused on the game only.
The home side are without the defensive trio of Derek Pender, Owen Heary and Luke Byrne who have all picked up suspensions. Ciaran Nangle is set to come in at left back for the Gypsies and recent addition Anto Murphy, is set to make his debut for the club.Midfielder Shane Murray (ankle injury) may not be available for Friday
but a new option in midfield is recruit Stephen Doran (24), who has
returned to his native Dublin after four years in the United States.
The visitors have some slight injury concerns ahead of the trip to Phibsboro. Alan Byrne,
Alan McNally and Declan O'Brien are all doubtful for the game. Eric
Foley is still out while Michael Daly is suspended.
The last time the two met was at Dalymount for the FAI Ford Cup fixture in May when the Drogs ran out 3-0 victors over a very poor Bohemians side.
A battling performance in the league however, saw the two teams share the spoils in an enthralling 2-2 draw.

An intriguing encounter lies in wait and Mick Cooke will be aware that this is now a different animal his side will be facing in Bohemians.
Prediction: Bohemians 1-1 Drogheda United
