Bohs 0-2 Derry City

A small crowd turned up at Dalymount for this EA Sports cup match.

Bohs haven't beaten Derry since 2009 and would have wanted to end their bad run against the Candystripes.

The game started cagey,  neither side looked like scoring apart from a half chance for Michael Duffy on the 9th minute but it went well over the crossbar on the volley.

Derry had another chance on the 35th Minute in form striker Micheal Rafter had a shot from distance, but Rafter should have scored when Pat Mc Eleney send it to him, but his shot was well saved by Bohs keeper Greg Murray.

A horrible mistake in the Bohs defensive allowed MichaelDuffy to volley the ball but again Greg Murray came to Bohs rescue and put it behind for a corner, which went to nothing.

Karl Moore and looked dangerous up front but just couldn't score but Bohs did have a chance to take the lead when Ryan McEvoy fed Chris Lyons out wide but his shot was saved by Derry keeper Gerard Doherty.

HALF TIME BOHS 0-0 DERRY

Second half begins and substitute Paddy Kavnanagh should have made it 1-0 on the hour mark when he burst through the Bohs defence but his shot was   saved by Greg Murray it remained 0-0.

Bohs could have taken a shock lead when Dave Scully started a move and left miles of space for Darragh Reynor who sent a great cross to Scully whose header just went wide. Still 0-0.

Derry finally took the lead through Duffy who looked impressive all night. Micheal Rafter began a move on the right side  before finding Barry McNamee who then found Duffy. The youngster fired it low and made it 1-0 much to the delight of the traveling supporters.

Bohs could have equalized  immediately after Duffys goal , after Scully blazed well wide.

Duffy then raced through a tired Bohs backline and had no trouble putting it over Greg Murray and send Derry into the EA Sports cup Semi-Final
