Waterford United vs Sligo Rovers preview

Sligo Rovers vs Waterford United preview.
Waterford United face a very tough challenge against premier division champions and second place Sligo Rovers. The last time the two teams faced was in 2009, when a  76th minute Matthew Blinkhorn goal, sent the Bit O' Red into the FAI Ford Cup final. A heartbreaking night for the blues fans who travelled to the Showgrounds that October night.

The blues go into the game after coming off a one nil victory over 5th place Athlone Town,With a Cogs Quilty goal, which leaves the blues eleven points of top of the league Longford Town. Who are funnily enough Longford's rivals. The blues seem to have bonded together better and communicated alot better since Paul O'Brien has left. David Breen is in charge of the team until a replacement manager is found. Former Blues player Paudie Quinn also left midweek  on mutual consent.

Sligo on the other hand have come into the game after a well fought draw against Limerick in Thomond Park on Friday night, From what I heard was a very entertaining tie, Limerick had a goal dissallowed from Axel Bossekota 23 minutes in, David O'Leary almost scored aswell, but Sligo goalkeeper Gary Rogers tipped to safety. Sligo also beat Mervue four nil, with two Elding goals and McMillian and Ventre with the other goals. Sligo lost to Dundalk on tuesday night, with Dane Massey getting the Dundalk goal, and Elding getting sent of with an off the ball challenge.

There are no suspensions for the game on Saturday.
Evan McMillan and Lee Lynch both out for Sligo
Higgins and Frost both doubtful for Waterford, Peter Higgins may feature.
