More late drama, as points shared in the Brandywell

Derry City 1-1 Cork City

With the Radio One Big Weekend a big crowd wasn't expected but the fans that did go to the game where in for a real treat more so in the second half.

The first real chance came when Pat McEleney strike was saved by Cork keeper Mark McNulty. Patrick McEleney had another chance to make it 1-0 to the Candystripes then his shot when just wide of McNulty's right hand post.

All square at Half Time.

The second half was a more lively affair Derry manager Declan Devine took off Tyrone man Dermot McCaffrey and replaced him with local youngster Michael Duffy. The McEleney brothers nearly set up a goal together when Pat's corner hit off the head of Shane  but it went wide.

Captain Kevin Deery then released Rory Patterson  one on one but the shot just trickled wide

Derry again missed another chance to make it 1-0 when Patterson's free kick was tumbled by McNulty but Duffy didn't take advantage and keeper got the ball safely.

Cork inevitably took the lead on 83 minutes when Daryl Horgan chipped Ger Doherty from 25 yards. Sending the 20 traveling Cork fans into raptures

But as has been a pattern all season, the Rebel Army couldn't hold on, and 90 seconds later the Candystripes were level

Donegal man John Dunleavy's  backpass ran short , which allowed Patterson to chase the ball down, knock it past McNulty and into the goal to level up

And the Foylesiders had a chance to win it, when Barry McNamee's effort was scrambled off the line in injury time

Derry will feel they should have taken all 3 points. Cork delighted to escape with 1, but could so easily have had 3

Final Score in the Brandywell : Derry City 1-1 Cork City.
