Shelbourne and Sligo Rovers go head to head tonight in Tolka Park in what is both sides first game after the mid-season break. Shelbourne come into the game on the back of an improved run of form which has seen them win three out of their last four games. With wins against Bohemians (league) UCD (LS Cup) and Bandon AFC (FAI Cup). Rovers picked up a very important 5-2 victory over UCD last time out, and will hope this is stepping stone back to the form that seen them fly out of the blocks at the start of the season. Last time these two sides met was in April when two strikes from the Bit'o'Red's top scorer Anthony Elding gave the champions a 2-0 win at the showgrounds.
TEAM NEWS:
Shelbourne: Johnny McDonnel is expected to give new signing Gareth O'Connor a chance in tonights showdown. Shels will hope that O'Connor's experience will help their young sqaud over the second half of the season. However Shelbourne are without Dean Kelly (Hamstring), and Paul Crowley (Hip), through injury. Jack Memery and Stephen Hurley are both suspended after picking up four yellow cards. But there is good news as Shels welcome back Brian Shorthall, Glen Cronin, Robert Bayly and Rob Cornwall from injury.
Sligo Rovers: The champions will be without top scorer Anthony Elding who is serving the third game of his four match ban. They will also be without Raffaelle Cretaro (Hamstring), Evan McMillan (knee), Danny Ventre (Leg), with injury and Pascal Millian who is currently on international duty with Haiti. Lee Lynch trained on Thursday, and a late decision will be made on whether he is fit enough to start.
