Wexford Youths v Cobh Ramblers Preview

Cobh Ramblers can jump ahead of Wexford Youths with a win tonight in their Airtricity League First Division clash at Ferrycarraig Park.

Ramblers, despite last week’s narrow loss to Waterford, have been on a decent run of results recently, with two wins and a draw in their previous four. Wexford, in contrast, have picked up a draw in their last two games, but three previous losses mean that the Cork side are gaining ground on the Youths very quickly indeed.

There have been 71 goals in 21 Ramblers games so far this season (that’s an average of 3.4 goals a game!), and the last time these two sides met Ramblers stuffed three past a hapless Wexford side, with Conor Meade grabbing a brace in his final game for Ramblers before moving to neighbours Waterford United.

Wexford though will be heartened by those two aforementioned draws, against high flying Longford Town and Mervue United, and will be looking to beat the Rams for the first time this season.
