Bray Wanderers v
Shelbourne (4-8-13)

Bray Wanderers host Shelbourne at the strange time of 3:30
of a Sunday afternoon at the Carlisle Grounds this weekend. He rescheduling is
to facilitate a ‘family day’ being organised by the Seagulls.
The two teams go into this game on equal points in the
league (19) but Shelbourne are two places above Bray on goal difference (-17 to
-21). Their last few results, however, have been quite different. The Reds are
unbeaten in their last 4 matches (3 wins, 1 draw) but Wanderers are without a
win in their last 6 (their last win came on the 8th of June against
UCD).
Last weekend, Shels leapfrogged Bohemians, Bray Wanderers
and UCD as they beat the latter 2-1 at the UCD Bowl while Bray went down 1-0 at
Dundalk . The Reds have been resurgent as of
late with 4 wins in the league since John McDonnell took over from Alan
Mathews, who only had 1 win. Bray, however, haven’t seen the same good fortune.
Although it looked like they would finish top of the ‘mini-league’ at the
bottom of the table, they are now in the relegation zone as Jason Byrne has
fallen out of the goal-scoring form in which he was previously.
